Azerbaijani deputy interior minister urges Nardaran residents to obey police requirement

Baku: The Interior Ministry, the Ministry of National Security and the General Prosecutor’s Office conducted a joint special operation in the Nardaran township of Baku Dec.1.

The entrance and exit of Nardaran is under police control. Deputy Interior Minister, Lieutenant General Vilayat Eyvazov, as well as other high-ranking officials of the ministry arrived in Nardaran.

Nardaran resident Natiq Karimov told APA that Deputy Interior Minister Vilayat Eyvazov has had a talk with local residents, urging them to obey legal requirements of police.

Employees of the Baku city executive power have cleared streets and squares of radical religious symbols such as posters and other elements and removed the barricades.

Several people were detained. Weapons and ammunition were reportedly seized from several houses.

The police conducted an operation to detain those involved in the incident on Nov.26. Several people were detained. Weapons and ammunition were reportedly seized from several houses.
