Azerbaijani Defense Ministry hosts meeting with foreign military attachés

Baku: Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry hosted on Friday an annual meeting with foreign military attachés accredited in the country.

The meeting, held in accordance with the plan approved by Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, was attended by 33 delegates from 24 countries, the defense ministry said.

Addressing the meeting, the chief of the international military cooperation department at the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, Major General Huseyn Mahmudov gave detailed information about the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan, reforms carried out in the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, development prospects and the military and security situation in the region.

The military attachés were also informed about the activities carried out on international military cooperation in 2015, the rules for mutual coordination of activities of Military Attaches Offices accredited in Azerbaijan and the action plan for 2016.

Speaking on behalf of the Association of Military Attaches, military attaché of the Armed Forces of Poland, Colonel Zbigniew Vasilevsky expressed gratitude to the Defense Ministry leadership for the conditions created for them, noting that he hopes fruitful cooperation will continue further.
