Azerbaijani Armed Forces launch large-scale military exercises in Nakhchivan – UPDATED

Baku: Azerbaijani Armed Forces started large-scale military exercises in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

The Defense Ministry told APA that the exercises are being held under the leadership of Defense Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov in accordance with the combat readiness plan for 2014.

The exercises are being held with the participation of Defense Ministry leadership, personnel units of Army Special Forces, aviation systems, air defense forces, missile force and artillery troops, including modern armored vehicles.

The exercises will check the level of combat training of units in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The possibility of using military equipment, as well as modern weapons will be studied. A special attention will be paid to faster and efficient fulfillment of tasks, preparation of headquarters operations, interoperable and secure organizing and implementation of tasks set at the various stages of military operations.
