Azerbaijan-Turkey cooperation capable of changing Europe’s energy map – parliament speaker

Baku: Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Ogtay Asadov received on Tuesday a delegation led by Turkish deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan, who is on a visit to our country, the parliament told APA.

Ogtay Asadov said friendly relations between the two peoples of the same root and culture are unbreakable.

He noted that Azerbaijan-Turkey relations are at such a level that can be an example to other countries. Asadov also said that economic relations are promising, adding that over 1,300 Azerbaijani companies today are operating in Turkey, and over 2,400 Turkish companies are operating in Azerbaijan.

“The holding of the groundbreaking ceremony of the TAP gas project this year in Kars is indicative of our economic cooperation being established at a high level. Our energy cooperation is capable of changing Europe’s energy map,” he noted.

Ali Babacan stressed in his turn that Turkey-Azerbaijan economic cooperation is of huge importance to the region, saying that this cooperation will bring tranquility and prosperity to the region.
