Azerbaijan to bring defense products to Asian market – PHOTOSESSION

Kuala Lumpur: Military representatives of various countries viewed the Azerbaijani stand as a part of the 14th Defense Services Asia Exhibition and Conference (DSA 2014) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

APA’s correspondent reports from Malaysia that the Azerbaijani delegation held several meetings during the exhibition. Minister of Defense Industry Yaver Jamalov received a high-ranking delegation from Saudi Arabia.

Jamalov told APA that the south-east Asia region is regarded as a potential market for Azerbaijan’s defense industry. There is a need for Azerbaijani products in this region.

“We agreed with companies of Malaysia and Singapore to organize the sale of Azerbaijani products in the region. This is an important step to bring Azerbaijani defense products to the Asian market,” the minister said.

The minister also said preparations are underway for ADEX-2014 international exhibition to be held in Baku in September and this exhibition will demonstrate the development of Azerbaijani defense industry.

The Azerbaijani stand is obviously and through brochures presenting local-produced 132 types of defense products. The ministry is showcasing “Istiglal-T”, the modernization version of 14.5-mm caliber “Istiglal” sniper rifle, 7.62-mm “Yalguzag” sniper rifle, tank machine gun, HP-7.62 offensive machinegun, universal machinegun for the first time produced by local engineers, “Zafar”, “Zafar-K” and “Inam” pistols, drone models, aviation training bombs, ammunition of various calibers, vests, gas masks and others.
