Azerbaijan private clinic where patient died in nose operation closed

Baku: The StarMed private clinic where a patient died during a nose operation has been shut down.

Health Ministry spokesperson Anar Qadirli told APA that under the ministry’s order, the clinic’s activities and causes of the incident are being investigated.

The final decision on the clinic will be announced after investigations are over.

Note that, Mursalova Leyla Namiq qizi, a student of the Azerbaijan Financial-Economic College, requested for a nose operation. But she passed away right after going under anesthesia on March 18. Initial opinions suggest the girl has died of overdose of anesthesia.

The Yasamal District Prosecutor’s Office has opened a criminal case under the Criminal Code’s article 124.1 (murder on imprudence). A forensic team is working to clarify causes of the death. The doctor that has conducted the operation and others doctors are being interrogated.
