Azerbaijan beat Ukraine in Dvorkovich Chess Cup

Azerbaijani chess players have emerged victorious over Ukraine in the 3rd round of the Vladimir Dvorkovich Cup held in the Russian capital of Moscow, AzerTag state news agency reported.

Azerbaijan secured a 2.5-1.5 win thanks to contribution of Ismayil Shakhaliyev, Abdulla Gadimbayli, Niyazi Nagdaliyev and Aydan Khojatova.

The round also saw Russia outclass India, Serbia won second Russian team and China defeat Armenia.

China and Russia are now leading the tournament with 5 pts, while Azerbaijan and Ukraine both have 4 pts. India, Armenia and Serbia have 2 pts each.
