Armenian citizens attempting to smuggle radioactive material to Georgia detained

Baku: Employees of Georgian law enforcement bodies have prevented a container carrying radioactive material Cesium-137 from entering the country.

The Georgian Ministry of Interior Affairs released a statement in this regard, APA reports.

According to the statement, two Armenian citizens were detained on the Sadakhli border checkpoint as a result of an operation conducted by Georgia’s law enforcement bodies.

The exact amount of the radioactive material they attempted to smuggle into Georgia is unknown yet. A criminal case has been launched on the fact.
