Armenia violated ceasefire with Azerbaijan 452 times last month – The number of ceasefire violations increased by 78.6 percent in November

Baku: Armenian Armed Forces violated ceasefire with Azerbaijan 452 times in November, 2014.

According to the results of the APA’s monitoring based on the reports confirmed by the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, the Azerbaijani Army lost a serviceman as a result of the ceasefire violations.

The ceasefire was violated 131 times in Fuzuli, 118 times in Aghdam, 58 times in Khojavand, 32 times in Terter, 31 times in Jabrayil, 25 times in Goranboy and 3 times in Goygol region.

On the Armenia-Azerbaijan borders, the ceasefire was violated 29 times in Tovuz, 17 times in Gazakh, 5 times in Aghstafa and 3 times in Gedebey region.

The number of ceasefire violations increased by 78.6 percent in November.

A helicopter, for the first time, was shot down on the line of contact of troops after a ceasefire agreement was signed in 1994.

On November 12, a Mi-24 helicopter of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, which conducted military exercises in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, was downed while attempted to attack the positions of the Azerbaijani Army in the direction of Aghdam region.

Totally, the Armenian armed forces violated ceasefire 3640 times during eleven months of 2014, excluding the fire-fights that took place along the front line in early August: (1543 times in January, 258 times in February, 229 times in March, 212 times in April, 260 times in May, 344 times in June, 414 times in July, 332 times in August, 103 times in September, 253 times in October and 452 times in November).

Fire-fights intensified on the contact line of Azerbaijani and Armenian troops in the end of July to early August.
