Ankara meeting of Azerbaijani, Turkish and Georgian armed forces leaders ends – UPDATED

Baku: The sides decided at the meeting to create a coordination group in order to regulate trilateral cooperation among the armed forces

An Azerbaijani delegation led by Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov on Monday paid a visit to Anitkabir – the mausoleum of Mustafa Kamal Ataturk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, the defense ministry said.

Zakir Hasanov led a wreath at the grave of Ataturk, signing the book of honor.

Later on, the first meeting of the heads of the Azerbaijani, Turkish and Georgian armed forces took place in the Headquarters of the Turkey Armed Forces.

The sides decided at the meeting to create a coordination group in order to regulate trilateral cooperation among the armed forces.

The group aims to hold joint exercises and courses, expand cooperation in the areas of education and medicine, exchange experience and coordinate other issues of common interests.

A protocol on the results of the meeting was signed.
