Ankara mayor, Hurriyet columnist involved in social media spat

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Melih GandOkandcek and Handurriyet columnist Ahmet Coikun were involved in a social media spat on Saturday over a recent dispute between GandOkandcek and Deputy Prime Minister Bandulent Arinandc.
The dispute between GandOkandcek and Arinandc began in March when GandOkandcek alleged that Arinandc is the and”parallel stateand’sand” inside man who will hit the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) and that he has to be dismissed from the government. The deputy prime minister then claimed that it was GandOkandcek who and”sat in the lapand” of the and”parallel structureand” and and”sold Ankara to this structure plot by plot.and”
Parallel state is a term invented by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to refer to sympathizers of the faith-based Gandulen movement, also known as the Hizmet movement, inspired by Turkish Islamic scholar Fethullah Gandulen, which he sees as responsible for the Dec. 17, 2013 graft probe.
In their combative Twitter exchange on Saturday, Coikun reminded GandOkandcek of Arinandcand’s statements about selling Ankara plot by plot. In response, GandOkandcek wrote: and”Donand’t attempt to hit me with Bandulent Arinandcand’s remarks. I have [made] a promise to my party and party leader. No matter how much you provoke me on this issue [I will not speak].and”
GandOkandcek also said he is ready to take part in Ahmet Hakanand’s TV program aired on CNN Tandurk to discuss Coikunand’s allegations. Coikun responded by saying Arinandc should also join the proposed televised debate to make it fair and so the pair could talk about their counter-allegations made against each other, but added that Arinandc had rejected an invitation.
Coikun also called on GandOkandcek to appear on a TV program on Beyaz TV, which is owned by GandOkandcek. He said GandOkandcekand’s son could preside over the program and the pair could discuss their allegations on that show instead.
In some parts of their conversation, GandOkandcek employed threatening language, saying: and”I told you that I donand’t make people cry but I make them unable to go out. This is the last stage. andhellip Prepare yourself well as of tomorrow.
In response, Coikun said: and”If you are still able to go out after all that happened, it is impossible for you to make me unable to go out.and”
