Ali Hasanov: Azerbaijani president instructs to investigate fire and punish culprits

Baku: Azerbaijani president’s assistant for public and political affairs, Ali Hasanov, has said that President Ilham Aliyev is seriously concerned over the fire in a multi-storey building in Baku’s Binagadi district.

Hasanov said the president gave instructions to the relevant state agencies for eliminating the consequences of the fire and providing comprehensive assistance to those affected by the disaster.

“Currently, the health ministry is taking measures to provide emergency medical assistance to those injured in the fire,” he added.

Hasanov also said that the president instructed to create a special commission for investigating the causes of the fire outbreaks in residential buildings in Khatai and in Binagadi districts of Baku.

“The issuance of a certificate of conformity for the fire-affected production of the cladding materials, use of them in residential buildings as well as the compliance with the safety standards will be investigated and the bodies and individuals responsible for violations will be punished severely. Appropriate measures will be taken regarding the buildings covered with those materials,” the president’s assistant noted.

Hasanov said that President Ilham Aliyev offered deep condolences to the families of the fire victims and instructed the Baku mayor’s office to organize funeral ceremonies at state’s expense.

He also mentioned that all the necessary measures will be taken to prevent such cases and possible threats.
