AK Party becoming ‘institution,’ will live on for centuries, says FM

Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) will continue becoming an “institution” in the next decade, and will be around even in centuries to come, while speaking to reporters in Konya on Monday.

Following a meeting of the AK Party’s Konya provincial administration, Davutoglu said: “The AK Party is not only a political movement but a historical movement. The fate of Turkey and the fate of the AK Party are in line with each other.”

Commenting on ongoing criticism that Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is polarizing society, turning different groups against each other and creating a tension, Davutoglu said such statements directed at Erdogan are not fair. The foreign minister added that there will be no moment in the future of Turkey without the presence of the AK Party.
