AIDA represented at international donor conference in Brussels

Baku: The Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has been represented at the international donor conference in Brussels.

The Foreign Ministry’s press service told APA that the conference was held in May for flood-stricken Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia on the initiative of the European Union, France and Slovenia.

Addressing the conference, Director of the AIDA Ashraf Shikhaliyev said that as a new donor country Azerbaijan has sent humanitarian assistance to Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, taking into account the damage caused by the natural disaster and the need for joint efforts of international community.

He said that other disaster-affected countries have applied to Azerbaijan for humanitarian assistance and currently their appeals are under consideration.
