Academic behind Koza decision has conviction of fraud

The author of the expert report that was used as grounds for the appointment of trustees to the management of Koza ipek Holding has turned out to be an ex-convict of fraud.
The decision of the Ankara 5th Penal Court of Peace to appoint trustees to replace the existing board of Koza ipek Holding and its companies on Monday was based on an expert report prepared by Professor iafak Ertan andcomakli, who heads the Police Academyand’s Forensic Sciences Institute.
andcomakli, along with the other suspect Cenap Gerandcek, was trialed at the Kandutahya High Criminal Court in 2007 over allegations of swindling TL 62,261 from the plaintiff Mehmet Soydan.
The court gave andcomakli and Gerandcek a 25-month prison sentence and a TL 2,500 fine each in 2007.
The decision was later appealed by andcomakli and Gerandcek in the Supreme Court of Appeals, which ruled in 2010 for the cancellation of the punishment due to the statute of limitations.
Another controversy concerning andcomakli is over the messages he posted on Twitter in August, in which he used profanity against the followers of the faith-based Gandulen movement.
