62 fined for violating election law during vote

A total of 62 people in Turkeyand’s southwestern province of Antalya werefinedon Monday for violating the countryand’s election law during Sundayand’s parliamentary election. According to a statement issued by the Antalya Police Department, the action was taken as part of the departmentand’s fight against repeat voting, taking photographs of ballots with cell phones after voting and the violation of a ban on party propaganda after the start of voting.
The statement further elaborated on the prosecutions by saying that the 62 suspects, 40 of whom photographed their ballots while voting in poll booths, were taken to the police station and fined.
