60 detained in Mardin for providing fake IDs to Syrian refugees

Police detained 60 people in the southeastern province of Mardin on Thursday as part of an investigation into a network providing fake Turkish identity cards to Syrian refugees.
According to the Dogan news agency, the network, which consists of businessmen and bureaucrats, allegedly bribed civil servants in registry offices to make fake IDs and sold those fake IDs to Syrians. The network was led by A.B. and M.andc., who are among the detainees.
The Mardin Police Department will continue the investigation after questioning the suspects.
