4 bodies found on Turkish-flagged ship

The bodies were said to have been found when the ship, which is currently anchored at a port in the İskenderun district of the southeastern province of Hatay on Wednesday evening, was undergoing checks in China in a part of the ship that is only opened once every five years for maintenance.

The authorities in China refused to take the bodies and the ship, the IDC Pearl, returned to Turkey.

An investigation was launched into the incident by the İskenderun Public Prosecutor’s Office after the authorities in China informed the Turkish government about the issue.
