3 killed, 2 injured in Ankara factory explosion

Three employees were killed and two others severely injured in an explosion that occurred in a cement factory in Turkeyand’s capital city of Ankara in the evening hours of Sunday.
The incident took place in the SaraykandOy neighborhood of the Kazan district of the city. The blast happened in a cement boiler, for reasons that are currently unknown, when five employees of the factory tried to repair a malfunction in the boiler.
The three workers killed in the blast were identified as the factoryand’s deputy director general Orhan andOzer, production manager Haluk Bilge and worker Bayram Altin. Another worker, Yasin Yildirim, and business manager Enis Oyma are currently being treated at a hospital.
Kazan District Governor Murat Duru and Kazan Mayor Lokman Ertandurk went to the factory where the explosion took place and examined the site. Duru spoke to the media afterwards, saying: andquotMy condolences to all of us. What we have faced is a really sad situation. Three employees lost their lives and two have injuries.
