136 killed in Azerbaijan traffic accidents in first two months of 2015

Baku: 136 people died, 396 were injured in 362 road accidents took place in January-February this year.

Compared to the same period of 2014, the number of traffic accidents increased by 26, the number of injured by 73 facts, but death toll decreased by 10, Namidan Piriyev, an employee of the public relations department at the Main State Traffic Police Office, told APA.

During the reporting period, 13 road accidents were caused by drunken drivers, killing 10, injuring 16.

4 pedestrians died, 7 were injured in 11 traffic accidents in the first two months of 2015.

10 children were killed, 36 injured in road accidents during the reporting period.

114 traffic accidents occurred due to exceeding the speed limit, in which 48 died, 108 were injured.

In the first two months of 2015, 116 traffic accidents occurred due to violation of overrunning and crossing of intersections in which 29 people died, 149 were injured.
