ALGIERS, May 9 — Algeria’s President Abdelaziz Bouteflika Thursday granted an audience to thevisiting United Arab Emirates (UAE) Foreign Minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who arrived here earlier in the day for a working visit to Algeria.

The UAE official, who was accompanied by Algerian counterpart Minister Ramtane Lamamra, is leading the Emirati delegation to this week’s Algeria-UAE Joint Commission meeting here.

Sheikh Abdullah was also received by Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal and discussed with him the state of bilateral co-operation and its development. They also discussed ways of strengthening the institutional and legal framework to ensure successfull implementation of various bilateral projects.

The two sides re-affirmed their commitment to working in co-ordination to address all the issues relating to the promotion of co-operation and partnership relations between the two countries.

Earlier, the Emirati foreign minister was welcomed upon his arrival at Houari Boumediene International Airport here by Lamamra.The two co-chaired the 12th Session of the Algerian-Emirati Joint Commission, scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday in Algiers.
