U.S. drone strike kills 13 rebels in N. Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD, May 22 (KUNA) — At least 13 Taliban rebels were killed in a fresh drone strike by United States in Afghanistan’s northern Kunduz province, said officials on Sunday.
A spokesman for 808th Zpin Ghar Zone in the northeast, Lt. Gen. Sher Aziz Kamawal told media that the drone missile struck a vehicle in the Asqalan locality of Kunduz city, the provincial capital.
He confirmed that 13 rebels lost their lives in the unmanned air strike, adding that two notorious commanders were among the dead militants who were traveling to Imam Sahib District from Kunduz city.
The drone strike came a day after US drone strike killed Afghan Taliban’s chief, Mullah Akhtar Mansour at Pak-Afghan border. (end) sbk.nfm
