Two US troops injured in Iraq, Syria

WASHINGTON, May 31 (KUNA) — Two US soldiers have been injured in Iraq and Syria, the Pentagon said on Tuesday.
Both “were not on the front lines, they were not engaged in active combat, but they were hit in both cases by indirect fire and suffered injuries,” Pentagon spokesman Navy Captain Jeff Davis told reporters.
The US has authorized 4,087 troops in Iraq and 300 in Syria.
In Syria, the soldier was the first injured since the US advisory unit was deployed there at the end of 2015. (end) sd
