Two strikes in Syria, 26 in Iraq target IS – coalition

WASHINGTON, May 1 (KUNA) — Coalition military forces continued to attack the so-called Islamic State (IS) group, conducting two strikes in Syria and 26 in Iraq, the Combined Joint Task Force announced on Sunday.
In Syria near Mar’a, two strikes struck an IS tactical unit and destroyed two fighting positions, the announcement said.
In Iraq, the coalition forces destroyed 26 IS targets in different parts of the country.
The targets include a mortar system, vehicle borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) facilities, tactical units, fighting positions, heavy machine guns, an anti-air artillery system, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) site, a tunnel entrance and two excavators. (end)
