TWO DEVICES EXPLODE IN ROME, NO INJURIES REPORTED

Rome – There has been an explosion near a post office in central Rome, damaging a car, the ANSA news agency reported Friday.

According to ANSA, authorities are not ruling out any cause for the explosion, including the possibility of a cherry bomb or of a parcel bomb.

RAI TV said two devices had been found near parked cars in the area, adding that the explosion took place near Piramide metro station.

Italy has adopted extra security measures, including a temporary suspension from Europe’s passport-free Schengen area, as it is hosting Group of Seven (G7) meetings. (QNA)
