Turkish Coast Guard Seizes 35 Migrants Trying to Reach Greece

Ankara, – The Turkish coast guards seized 35 foreign migrants off west Turkey trying to reach the Greek Island of Medley.

Security sources said that water had begun to flood the rubber boat when the coast guard determined the location of the boat and rescued the migrants.

According to the sources, the migrants were Syrian, Ugandan, Congolese, Afghan and Eritrean nationalities.

The coast guard teams provided assistance to migrants, before taking them to the foreigner return center.

The Turkish authorities announce every now and then such incidents of migrants trying to illegally get into Greece. (QNA)
