Turkish artillery kills 13 IS militants N. Syria

ANKARA, May 3 (KUNA) — Turkish artillery killed at least 13 militants belong to the so-called Islamic State (IS) group in a Barki Turkuman town in Azaz city, north of the Syrian city of Aleppo, a security source said on Tuesday.
The strikes by artillery followed rocket attacks launched from IS-controlled territory in Syria on Turkey’s southern Kilis province Tuesday, Anadolu Agency said.
Four vehicles belonging to IS were damaged and three sites were destroyed by the strikes, the source added.
Earlier in the day, Turkish authorities announced that six IS members were killed and two rocket launchers were destroyed.
Kilis has been subjected to repeated rocket attacks since January, resulting in 20 deaths. (end) rs.hm
