Tunis, – Tunisia’s Minister of National Defense Farhat Horchani met today with Defense Senior Advisor Middle East at the UK Ministry of Defense Lieutenant-General Tom Beckett, who is currently visiting Tunisia.

They reviewed bilateral cooperation in the military field. They also discussed security and political developments in Libya.

Tunisia’s Minister of National Defense said that Military cooperation between the two countries must further develop, especially since Tunisia is fully engaged in a war on terrorism. He added that this can be achieved through training, intelligence, exchange of experience and clearance of antipersonnel mines in order to contribute to increasing the operational capabilities of the armed forces.

For his part, Beckett expressed his country’s readiness to support Tunisia in the fight against terrorism and praised the preparation levels of the Tunisian Special Forces. (QNA)
