Three Turkish servicemen killed in Mardin

ANKARA, May 25 (KUNA) — Three Turkish security personnel were killed in a car explosion in the southeastern city of Mardin on Wednesday, security sources said.
The sources were quoted by the Andolu news agency as saying Kurdish Workers Party’s (PKK) militants detonated a booby-trapped car near a local police station in the town of Midyat in Mardin killing three soldiers, while wounding nine others.
Ambulances rushed to the explosion scene, they said, while security forces started a combing operation in search of the attackers.
Turkey’s Eastern and southeastern areas have been witnessing armed confrontations between the Turkish forces and PKK militants since last July, killing more than 480 government troops and some 5,000 Kurds. (end)
