Thirty-four more airstrikes target IS in Syria, Iraq

WASHINGTON, May 28 (KUNA) — The US-led global coalition against the so-called Islamic State (IS) launched 34 airstrikes in Syria and Iraq on Friday, the Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) said in its daily report on Saturday.
The US maintained that a single airstrike “means one or more kinetic events that occur in roughly the same geographic location to produce a single, sometimes cumulative effect for that location.” In Syria, IS targets were said to be struck near Ar Raqqah, Ayn Isa, Manbij, and Mar’a, the report said.
In Iraq, IS targets were said to be struck near Al Baghdadi, Bayji, Fallujah, Habbaniyah, Hit, Kisik, Mosul, Ramadi, Sinjar, Sultan, and Tal Afar, the report said. (end) ys.gb
