Subcommittees of Yemeni peace talks resume meetings in Kuwait

KUWAIT, May 9 (KUNA) — Subcommittees set up within the framework of UN-facilitated Yemeni peace talks resumed meetings in Kuwait on Monday following failure to convene yesterday.
They were supposed to have come together on Sunday, but a source close to the UN Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed announced the delay of the meeting due to divergence in views.
Representing Yemeni government, General People’s Congress and Ansarullah movement, the Yemeni delegations are seeking to find a comprehensive settlement to the Yemeni crisis.
The UN-sponsored Yemeni peace negotiations started in Kuwait on April 21 as part on ongoing efforts to resolve the Yemeni crisis. (end) om.mt
