Sub-committees of Yemeni peace talks conclude joint sessions in Kuwait

KUWAIT, May 10 (KUNA) — The sub-committees dealing with UN-sponsored Yemeni peace talks in Kuwait, which began on April 21, concluded their meetings on Sunday, on a wave of optimism sparked by talks held on Monday.
The discussions, mediated by UN Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmad, focused on suggestions made by negotiators last week, which pertain to political and security issues, in addition to the plight of prisoners and detainees.
The UN envoy seeks to bring Yemen’s warring parties’ viewpoints closer together in a bid to defuse the row and bring an end to the Yemeni conflict.
The three political sub-committees, along with a security committee and a committee on prisoners and detainees had concurrently resumed talks on Monday, in efforts to set in motion a political solution to the conflict. (Pick up previous) am.nam
