Spain thanks Qatar for mediating release of 3 nationals in Syria

DOHA, May 7 (KUNA) — Spanish minister of state for foreign affairs thanked the State of Qatar for its successful mediation in the release of three Spaniards who were held hostage in Syria.
In a phone conversation with Qatari Assistant Foreign Minister Sultan Bin Saad Al-Meriekhi on Saturday, the Spanish senior diplomat also reviewed the friendly ties between both nations and a number of regional issues of common concern.
Three Spanish journalists, who had been abducted from Aleppo city, north Syria since July 12, were set free earlier today. (end) nnd.gb
