Sohar Airport Receives Qatar Airways Inaugural Direct Flight

Sohar — Sohar Airport today received the first direct flight from Qatar Airways to be the second international routes to be received by the airport and the third destination of Qatar Airways to Oman after Muscat and Salalah airports.

The launching ceremony of the flight was attended by Ali bin Fahd al-Hajri, Qatari Ambassador to the Sultanate, along with a number of officials from Oman Airport Management Company (OAMC).

David Wilson, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of OAMC said that launching this route would be a significant addition to the operations at Sohar Airport at it constitutes a support for the company’s investments in the airport.

Ihab Amin, Head of Commercial Operations at Qatar Airways highlighted the importance of Qatar Airways new route, which represents the company’s third international destination to the Sultanate after its flights to Muscat and Salalah.

Sheikh Ayman bin Ahmed al-Hosani, CEO of OAMC said that Qatar Airways is a strategic partner in Sohar city, which plays a pivotal role in the logistics map of the Sultanate.
