SIX KILLED IN CRASH OF LIGHT AIRCRAFT IN MOZAMBIQUE

Maputo, – A light aircraft of the Mozambican company ETA crashed on Monday near the border with Zimbabwe, killing all the four passengers and two crew on board, Mozambique’s aviation regulator said.

The plane was travelling from the Mozambican port city of Beira to the Zimbabwean capital Harare, said Joao Abreu, chairman of the National Civil Aviation Institute.

It had been chartered by the company Cornelder de Mocambique, which manages the port of Beira.

The crash occurred in a mountainous area of Machipanda administrative post in Manica province. It was thought possible that heavy rains contributed to the accident. (QNA)
