SAB: oil sector in need of adept workforce

KUWAIT, May 1 (KUNA) — The oil sector is in need of an adept and competent workforce, Undersecretary of the State Audit Bureau (SAB) Ismail Al-Ghanim said on Sunday, describing the sector as the lifeblood of the Gulf economy.
Al-Ghanim made the remarks at the onset of a training course on the oil sector, collectively organized by state audit bureaus of Gulf Cooperation Council( GCC) nations, including Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman.
The training course, which runs for five days, provides an opportunity to acquire much needed expertise in the oil sector, Al-Ghanim noted.
Moreover, Al-Ghanim said that he expected the program would yield positive results that would further develop the oil sector in GCC countries.
Director of International Organizations at SAB Faisal Al-Ansari said that the training course is the product of cooperation between GCC state audit bureaus.
Representative of the GCC General Secretariat Fahad Al-Swailam and Assistant Undersecretary of Administrative and Financial Affairs at SAB Essam Al-Mutairi were in attendance for the start of the course. (end) abd.nam
