Russian tourist stabbed in İstanbul’s Taksim

A Russian tourist was stabbed by unidentified assailants in Beyoglu district of İstanbul on Wednesday. Sustaining injuries to his and head, the tourist was taken to the hospital by an ambulance.

The incident took place on Mete Street in Gumussuyu neighborhood at around 21:00 p.m. According to the claims, a fighting occurred between a group, consisting of 7-8 people who wore Besiktas shirts, and Simpnov Cmnohob who arrived at Taksim with a friend. During the fight, Cmnohob was injured. Injured Russian and his friend hid in a shop nearby the scene. Over the call from witnesses, police and health units came to the scene. After the first medical intervention, the tourist was taken to Haseki Training and Research Hospital by the ambulance. Reportedly, the tourist had not a risk of death.

Following the incident Cmnohob, who is a fan of Lokomotiv Moscow, was discharged from the hospital. He later filed a criminal complaint about the assailants at a police station.

Cmnohob and his friend went to their hotel after the incident. Police launched a search to seize the assailants.
