Russia will cooperate with int'l community against terrorism – Putin

MOSCOW, May 9 (KUNA) — Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday stressed his country’s eagerness to cooperate with the world to face the growing threat of terrorism and violence.
In a speech at a ceremony held to commemorate the 71st anniversary of “Victory Day” over Nazi Germany, Putin hailed efforts and sacrifices of the Soviet Union and the Red Army in defending Europe against the Nazis during World War II.
Meanwhile, the President paid tribute to all Soviets who lost their lives in the fight to end the Nazi era. He also underlined Russia’s huge efforts to evacuate millions of people and move thousands of factories away from the warzone in the country.
The ceremony, held at the Red Square in Moscow, was attended by President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, top army officials and ambassadors. (end)
