RIAD SEIF ELECTED AS HEAD OF SYRIAN OPPOSITION COALITION COUNCIL

Istanbul, – The national council of the Syrian opposition coalition elected Saturday in Istanbul Riad Seif as its new head.

The national coalition’s media office said that Seif received 58 votes, compared to the 41 votes received by former head Khaled Khoja. A total of 99, of the council’s 102 members, cast their votes. National Coalition members also elected Abdulrahman Mustafa and Salwa Ktaw as vice presidents. Natheer al Hakim was elected as secretary-general of the coalition.

There will be elections for the coalition’s political body comprised of 19 members. (QNA)
