RAF CONDUCTS RELIEF PROJECT FOR 6000 DROUGHT-AFFECTED PEOPLE IN ETHIOPIA

Doha, – Sheikh Thani Bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) has implemented a relief project for 6000 drought-affected people in Ethiopia, including the distribution of supply baskets in several remote villages in the provinces and districts of Ethiopia as part of the Horn of Africa relief campaign.

The project was implemented in cooperation with the Erchad Association for cooperation and development, RAF’ partner in Ethiopia, which conducted a field study in most needy areas and identified beneficiary families before the beginning of the distribution process, taking into account families with no breadwinners, orphans, persons with special needs, the elderly and the sick, who are unable to manage their livelihood.

The assistance was provided within RAF’s humanitarian efforts to help and rescue Ethiopians in drought-affected areas, whose number exceeds 6 million. It also came in response to the humanitarian appeal made by the Ethiopian government to humanitarian institutions to quickly rescue those affected by a humanitarian disaster.

In mid-March, RAF launched a relief campaign for the Horn of Africa, aimed at raising QR 5 million funds from the benefactors for the relief of those affected by the drought that hit several African countries, threatening a famine in it. , And allocated 2 million riyals to provide urgent response to those affected by drought.
