Qatar’s Sold Properties Drop by 30 Percent in February 2017

Doha, March 29 (QNA) – The Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics has released the 38th edition of Qatar’s monthly statistics report, which is released on a monthly basis to highlight detailed statistics on State of Qatar recorded during the period February 2017.

One of the leading variables in this issue is the significant decrease in number of sold properties, as the total number of sold properties has reached only 289 properties sold during February 2017, and thus recorded a 30 percent decrease in comparison to January 2017 where the total number of sold properties has reached 414 properties. The bulletin shows a decrease in number of sold properties in all municipalities except for Al Wakra and Al Shamal municipalities. The total value of properties sold amounted to approximately 1.6 billion Qatari Riyal during February 2017.

In regard to the type of sold properties, the bulletin has showed an increase in the number of vacant lands sold by 8.7 percent. As the total number of vacant lands sold during February 2017 amounted to 162 lands with a total value of QR 565,575 thousand, while the total number of vacant lands sold during past January 2017 amounted to 149 lands with a total value of QR 683,678 thousand.

In contrast, the bulletin showed a decrease in number of residential housing sold by 80 percent. As the total number of residential houses sold during February 2017 amounted to 39 houses with a total value of QR 181,978 thousand, while the total number of residential housing sold during past January 2017 amounted to 211 houses with a total value of QR 790,831 thousand.

One of the leading variables as well is the decrease in the total number of traffic violations, as the total number of traffic violations has accounted to 158,213 violations during February 2017, resulting in a monthly decrease of 16 percent in comparison with previous month January 2017. The bulletin also shows a significant decrease in the total number of radar violations during February 2017 in comparison to last month, as it reached 106,360 violations.

The demographic statistics of bulletin shows that Qatar’s population has reached more than 2.6 million at end of February 2017, attaining an annual increase of 5 percent compared with population at end of February 2016. In regard with vital statistics, the total no of births has reached 1,867 new born in February 2017, where the total no of deaths has reached 191 death case during the same month. The total no of marriages was 279 marriage contracts during February 2017, where the total no of divorces was 97 divorce declarations during the same month.

The bulletin also highlighted that the total number of registered vehicles during February 2017 has reached 6,225 new vehicle. The figure has registered a monthly decrease of 13.7 percent compared to last January 2017, where the total number of registered vehicles attained was 7,213 new vehicle. (MORE)
