QATAR’S 5TH INTERNATIONAL AGRICULTURAL EXHIBITION BEGINS / 1

Among the activities at Agriteq 2017 is a public auction to sell different kinds of animals and birds in the Gulf region so as to attract investors and experts working in the field and brief them about livestock in the country.

There will also be a special space for children at the exhibition to expand their knowledge in the agricultural and environment areas and spread the culture of food security and the best agricultural practices.

Held over 12,000 square meters, the exhibition features a series of activities and events that will provide a platform for interaction and discussions on the most pressing issues and challenges facing the agricultural sector in Qatar and the Gulf region as well as holding a set of meetings between exhibitors and local government entities to discuss the latest developments and relevant legal and administrative measures in Qatar.

In addition, the event includes a number of workshops featuring a selection of agricultural experts and specialists to raise awareness about the latest technologies and food products.

The Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition has received a strong local and regional following as the ideal melting pot for professionals and experts in the agricultural sector. It also holds a forum for participants to discuss issues and updates with decision-makers and industry leaders, display the latest products and new mechanisms and techniques, explore market trends, and provide solutions to the most important challenges facing the sector.

The exhibition plays a vital role in the development of Qatar’s agricultural market by providing consulting and marketing products and appropriate solutions for improving the agricultural sector, which is one of the pillars in the country’s food security.

Qatar is adopting a strategic agricultural plan that aims to achieve self-sufficiency of agricultural production by 2030 by promoting local food industry and limiting the reliance on imported products. (QNA)
