Doha, – Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index gained 198.82 points (+2.05%) this week when the bourse closed Thursday afternoon at 9,913.75 points.

Trading value during this week increased by 86.93% to reach QR 1,498,143,367.66 compared to QR 801,427,800.49.

Trading volume increased by 163.50% to reach 65,454,223 shares, as against 24,840,724 shares, while the number of transactions rose by 26.43%, to reach 16,608 transactions as compared to 13,136 transactions.

Market capitalization rose by 1.72% to reach QR 533,886,872,730.60 as compared to QR 524,879,511,512.85 at the end of previous week.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value this week with 33.02% of the total traded value. Telecoms sector accounted for 25.18%. Industries sector accounted for 19.54% and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted 8.34%.

Telecoms sector led traded volume this week with 57.48% of the total traded volume. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 18.71%. Industries sector accounted for 8.49% and Real Estate sector accounted 7.92%.

Telecoms sector led traded number of transactions this week accounted for 29.99% of the total number of transactions. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 25.46%. Industries sector accounted for 15.31% and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 11.25%.

From the 44 listed companies 28 ended this week higher, while 14 fell and two unchanged.

Vodafone Qatar led trading value during this week accounted for 21.98% of the total trading value. QNB accounted for 12.71% and Commercial Bank accounted for 7.10%.
