QATAR: Q.D.F. SUPPORTS ELECTRICITY SECTOR IN YEMEN

DOHA, Qatar, – Qatar Development Fund (QDF), signed on Wednesday, an agreement with Yemen General Electricity Corporation and Turkey’s Calik Energy Company, in collaboration with Nebras Power.

The agreement is to supply Yemen with two portable energy units, with a total capacity of 61.6 Megawatt.

QDF General Manager, Khalifa bin Jassim Al Kuwari, said that, the supporting of electricity in Yemen, is an integral part of Qatar’s commitment towards the Yemeni people.

He added that, these units will provide electrical power to a large number of vital state facilities, such as, hospitals and schools, in addition to thousands of homes, which, hopefully, would alleviate their suffering.

The agreement was signed by QDF General Manager, Khalifa bin Jassim Al Kuwari, Yemeni Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Electricity, Abdallah Muhsin Al Akwa and Calik Energy’s General Manager.
