Manama – The State of Qatar participated in the 28th GCC Agricultural Cooperation Committee Meeting, which was held today in Manama.

Qatar’s delegation to the meeting was headed by HE Minister of Municipality and Environment Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi.

The meeting agreed on the topics discussed by technical committees related to the agricultural sector, livestock and plant, which contribute to the development of the plant, animal and fish sector in the GCC countries within the economic integration of the GCC system.

It is noteworthy that the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council, at its 17th session held in Doha in December 1996, adopted the Common Agricultural Policy, which was amended in 2004 to achieve agricultural integration among the GCC countries in accordance with a unified strategy based on the optimal use of water resources and provide food security from national sources, increase production, and promote joint ventures with the contribution of the private sector.(QNA)
