Tunis – The 6th conference of Heads of Social and Health Care Departments in Security Services started on Thursday at the General Secretariat of the Arab Interior Ministers Council headquarters in Tunis, with the participation of representatives of the Arab ministries of interior, the Arab League, Naif Arab University for Security Sciences and the Arab Police Sporting Federation.

The of Qatar participates in the conference with a delegation from the Ministry of Interior.

Secretary-General of the Arab Interior Ministers Council Dr. Mohammed bin Ali Koman, said in a speech that holding the conference comes in light of the critical security situation in the Arab region, putting police and security personnel under unprecedented pressure, which requires the provision of psychological, social and health care that ease the pressure and help them to carry out their duties.

The agenda of the conference features the Arab model strategy for enhancing the social and health care of the security services, the establishment of an Arab solidarity fund to cover the expenses of the medical, social and psychological coverage of Arab police and security personnel and their families, a model test for candidates to police and security services, In the security services and a model organizational structure of a department specialized in psychological counseling in the security services.

The General Secretariat of the Arab Interior Ministers Council will submit the recommendations of the Conference to the next session of the Council for consideration. (QNA)
