DOHA, Qatar, Apr 17 (NNN-QNA) – Qatar Cross Country Rally, round four of the FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies, kicks off Monday with participation of local and international drivers.

Organised by Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF), from Monday to Saturday, the event is located in Losail MX area in the Losail Circuit premises.

QMMF President, Abdulrahman Al-Mannai, said that, all preparations for the launch of the Rally were completed.

The official pre-event press conference takes place at 11:00 am Tuesday, and precedes the ceremonial start at 1530 hrs and the start of the super special stage at Losail from 1540 hrs.

This week’s Qatar Cross-Country Rally, round four of the FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies, will see the first appearance in the FIA World Cup and the Middle East of X-raid’s new Mini John Cooper Works Rally, in the hands of the Saudi Arabian driver, Yazeed Al-Rajhi.

Argentina’s Orlando Terranova, Przygonski and Abu Issa finished sixth, seventh and 10th overall, in their three new Minis at January’s Dakar Rally.

A back injury sustained at the recent Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge means that Russian driver, Vladimir Vasilyev, will miss out on the Qatar event in a fourth Mini.– NNN-QNA
