QATAR CHAIRS ARAB GROUP’S ANNUAL COORDINATION MEETING IN I.L.O.

GENEVA, Switzerland, – The Arab Group in the International Labour Organisation (ILO), held its annual coordination meeting, under the chairmanship of Qatar’s Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, Dr. Issa bin Saad al-Jafali.

The meeting came, ahead of the start of the 105th Session of the International Labour Conference 2016.

It was attended by Director-General of the Arab Labour Organisation (ALO), Fayez Ali Al Mutairi, ILO Regional Director for Arab States, Dr. Ruba Jaradat, and heads of Arab States delegations.

The aim of this meeting, which is organised by ALO, is to discuss and exchange views on a number of issues, that fall within the concerns and priorities of the Arab countries and their development needs, in order to develop a common vision and Arabic consensus, that helps to strengthen the Arab capabilities to advocate its interests in international fora.

The meeting also reviewed the outcome of the 43th Arab Labour Conference, which was held in Cairo in Apr, 2016.
