PRIME MINISTER OF PALESTINE MEETS ITALIAN FOREIGN MINISTER

Ramallah, – Prime Minister of Palestine Rami Hamdallah met today with Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs Angelino Alfano, who was visiting the occupied Palestinian territories.

They discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation. The two officials also discussed the latest political developments and Israeli violations of the rights of Palestinian people. Hamdallah stressed his administration’s commitment to the two state solution. He called on Italy and the EU to put pressure on Israel to end its illegal settlement policies .

The Palestinian Prime Minister also expressed his appreciation to Italy’s support in many fields such as education, health, and other developmental projects in East Jerusalem. He called on Italy to follow the lead of many countries around the world in recognizing Palestine as a state, as a step forward towards achieving the two-state solution. (QNA)
