PRESIDENT OF GEORGIA MEETS QATAR MINISTER OF STATE FOR DEFENCE AFFAIRS

TBILISI, Georgia, – President of the Republic of Georgia, Giorgi Margvelashvili, met with the Minister of State for Defence Affairs of Qatar, Dr. Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah, on the occasion of his visit to the Republic.

At the outset of the meeting, the Minister conveyed greetings of the Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, to the President of the Republic of Georgia, wishing him and the Georgian people further progress and prosperity.

For his part, Georgia’s President entrusted the Minister with his greetings to the Emir, wishing him best of health and happiness and more progress and prosperity to the Qatari people.

During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Georgia and ways of enhancing them. They also exchanged views on a number of issues of common interest, especially in the military fields, and the overall situation on the international arena.

Dr. Al Attiyah also met with the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Georgia, Tinatin Khidasheli.

During the meeting, they discussed issues of mutual interest and ways of developing them to serve the common interests of both countries especially those related to the military aspects.

The meetings were attended by Qatar’s Ambassador to Georgia, Mubarak bin Nasser Al Khalifa.
